Project story

How it came together

A narrow city plot, a tight budget and a planning rule limiting the building to five storeys. Instead of a flat block, the floors shift left and right as they rise, which gives every apartment a covered balcony and windows on two sides.

Drawings the builder could price

The tender set included more than 120 drawings and a detailed specification. Because the quantities were clear, the three quotes received were within 4% of each other, and the contract was signed without renegotiation.

Selling from the renders

Seven of the ten apartments were sold off-plan, using interior renders and a 3D cutaway of the largest layout.

Concrete, checked panel by panel

Board-formed concrete leaves no room for second chances. A sample panel was cast and approved on site before the facade works began, and every pour was inspected against it.
